Dive Center Silberstein is located in front of Hotel Silberstein on Charles Darwin Av. in Puerto Ayora.
Our equipment and compressor is located one block from the base. This is away from the main street to guarantee safe, clean air. Here we also have a very organized equipment workshop. Currently we are working with air, and soon we will have Nitrox for our Enriched air certified Divers.
We have 20 complete sets of Equipment with 7mm and 5mm Wetsuits, Hoods and Booties for female and male divers in all different sizes. Dive Computers are also available for rent. Our tanks are aluminium 12l with both, DIN- and INT valves.
At the head of our team are Alex and Daniela. Alex started as a Dive Master in 2009 and is now our PADI® Instructor and together they manage the base. Since beginnings of 2012 Daniela takes care of the office while Alex maintains the equipment and the compressor. His helpful hand is Gabriel, who started with filling bottles and is now part of our maintenance team.
Our experienced Captain Francisco and his sailor ensure our guests a safe and pleasant Dive Trip.
Since early 2007 we have been diving with our comfortable and reliable dive boat "Fioval". With a length of 9.50 m (31ft) and beam of 2.90 m (9.5ft) we offer space for a maximum of 8 divers, plus 2 guides, our Captain and sailor. Also onboard is the complete equipment for 2-3 dives per day. 2 x 200HP Yamaha 4-Stroke Engines power the Fioval.
"Fioval" guarantees the highest security and safety standards being equipped with DAN-Emergency oxygen (extended pack), First Aid Pack, Life vests, GPS, radio device, compass, Fire extinguisher, and emergency signal if needed on sea at night.
To ensure a perfect overview, especially with divers in the water, our experienced captain directs the boat from an upper floor with a speed of up to 20 Knots. In the lower level a dry room for the passengers' belongings and a small bathroom are located in the bow, in the waist cushioned banks, and on the foredeck a nice sundeck for relaxing in between the dives is available.
The Divers fall backwards off the stern sides to get into the water and gather in the back of the boat. The return is easy by holding a solid rope on starboard to hand the Sailor the equipment, and then climb up the ladder.
